Move over ladies because Men’s Fashion Week was the place to be. My journey started last week at New York Men’s Day (NYMD). The presentations started with six designers showcasing their Spring/Summer 2018 collection. Among some of the designers was David Hart, Krammer & Stoudt, Woodhouse, Head Of State+, Daniel Hechter, and Bristol.
DAVID HART: @davidhartnyc
If you’re looking for your next red carpet look consider designer David Hart. David Hart renown for his evening wear and tailoring has design for the stars. Among those celebrities include Young Paris, Steph Cury, Chance the Rapper, Paul Rudd and Ryan Seacrest just to mention a few. Furthermore, Cuba inspire fashion was the theme for Hart’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The interpretation of his collection was a combination of culture, art, and life. There were rich colors patterns, linen strip blazers, tropical tops, high waistband trousers, and scarves. The energy during the presentation made me feel like I was in Cuba.
KRAMMER & STOUDT: @krammerstoudt
Krammer & Stoudt Spring/Summer 2018 collection was Bohemian-inspired; which included casual street style wear. I highly appreciate how designer Michael Rubin embrace individuality in each look. Overall, the collection is a combination of fashion and style. For instance, there is everything from roy embroidered jacket, baseball shirt, workman pants, robe jacket, grant dress shirt, and bogart shorts. For Krammer & Stoudt 2018 collection it is all about fashion versatility while promoting individualism.
Woodhouse Spring/Summer 2018 collection is all about making menswear great again. Julian former U.S. Army Lieutenant and creative director continues evolving by pushing the envelope. As a result, new styles, new patterns, and new ideas is what makes the label Woodhouse street royalty.
HEAD OF STATE+: @headofstate_
Head of State+ presentation during NYMD was very influential or better said “FULFILLING ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Head Of State Spring/Summer 2018 main focus was collaborating art with design. In fact, their philosophy is about achieving an honest design. That being said, Head Of State + combines minimal streetwear with a social and political approach.
DANIEL HECHTER: @danielhechterus
Daniel Hechter inspired by his European roots brings European sophistication to his 2018 collection. For this purpose, his idea for making fashion an everyday event lead him to design for the consumer who’s looking to express their personal style while still maintaining that European aesthetic.
BRISTOL LOS ANGELES @bristol_la
New York Men’s Day presented Bristol, let’s just say there was no suit and tie in this collection. The authenticity of this lifestyle brand is what makes it uniquely it’s own. Bristol Spring/Summer 2018 collection was about that vintage feel that is carefree. The design behind Bristol is plain, unpredictable, and popular. Overall, Spring/Summer collection it’s a mix of denim meets sportswear. Evidently, the collection consist of hues anywhere from a pop of color to stripe accents in their collection. Bristol 2018 Collection can easily make you feel good while still having style and keeping up with trend.
Among other designers that showcase their Spring/Summer 2018 collection at NYMD was Private Policy, Descendant of Thieves, Maiden Noir, R. Swiader, Heliot Emil, and Life in Perfect Disorder.
