Met Gala 2017: The Hits Of The Night!

“ART IS EVERYWHERE, EXCEPT IT HAS TO PASS THROUGH A CREATIVE MIND.”

The Met Gala 2017 is a day to see our favorite celebrities become living works of art. The Met Gala is not a day to look ordinary but it’s a day to look extraordinary! It’s more than a fashion event. It’s about creativity and art expression. Fashion is art because the same amount of artistic expression goes into clothes. Equally important, fashion designers and their celebrity muses come together for one night and present to the world on the red carpet not just a gown but an artistic expression that aims to encourage creativity. In brief, the Met Gala 2017, the annual fund-raising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute here are the creative and artistic designers of the night that dress their inspiration.

Katie Holmes wears a  Zac Posen design at the Met Gala 2017. This gown “WOW,” with ruffles. The elegant and vintage waist gown was simply glamorous. Equally important, the evergreen color tone of the gown compliment her skin tone. The gown capture her fit slender figure with a simple A-line off the shoulder detail that made us stare right at her shoulders. Overall, she looked classy and fabulous as she attended the Met Gala.

Zoe Kravitz wears Oscar de la Renta at the Met Gala 2017. She looked so graceful and classy on the red carpet. The reason being, the pink gown brought a delicacy out in her. The quality, texture, and structure of the gown made her look radiant without saying a word. The finishing touches of gown that took my breath away was the pink satin cape that was not only an attractive detail but an empowering detail. The reason being,  because any time I see a cape on a woman I think of “SuperWoman.” Strong and beautiful was Zoe Kravitz wearing Oscar de la Renta.

Ashley Graham makes her Met Gala debut in H&M. I was blindsided on the fact that this gown was by H&M! Maybe it’s because she looked so stunning and beautiful wearing this gown. I love how this gown was form-fitting to her hourglass figure. The color choice of red was very romantic. This custom H&M gown was made to fit curves.

Jennifer Lopez wears Valentino at the 2017  Met Gala. This gown was fit for a “dream girl.” The timeless beauty gave us something to talk about and I am not talking about Alex Rodriguez. Her sky blue gown was a  brilliant color choice now that summer is near. This gown is an example of old hollywood glamour.

Versace went for the gold when dressing Blake Lively for the Met Gala 2017! The gold embellished Versace gown was dazzling. The blue feathered train was the cherry on top. The elegance in gold and blue is glamour at it’s finest. A  majestic combination that looked sensational on Blake. The cut of the gown was very slimming and shapely to the body.

FASHION RISKS TAKERS OF THE NIGHT!

Zendaya wears a Dolce & Gabbana dress at the 2017 Met Gala. A nature inspired parrot print dress is a great way to make an entrance at the 2017 Met Gala red carpet! The art of fashion was seen on this gown. For example, bold prints and bold colors was a distinctive, creative, and flawless way to walk the red carpet. It was a night of style for Zendaya   and the off-the-shoulder gown gave her the right amount of sex appeal.

Rihanna wears  Comme des Garçons dress  at the Met Gala.  A fashion risk taker she is! This dress was all about shapes, textures, and colors. The 3D flower dress was remarkable. This is what artistic fashion is all about. Fashion is art, nature is art, and flowers are the art of nature and fashion. She pulled off this look because fashion is about expressing yourself. A human flower! A work of art comes to life.  The designer was a genius for dressing Rihanna because she never plays it safe. This dress is more than style and attitude. As a result, this is when a creative mind and artistic mind work comes to life.

Katy Perry wears  John Galliano at the 2017 Met Gala. Remove the veil because Katy Perry is a living work of art. Lady in red! The red dress effect but with a mysterious twist. This gown is the artistry of couture because of the detail embedded on the gown.  Art and fashion come together at the Met Gala and Katy Perry is a fashion risk taker that always stands out from the crowd.
