By now everybody has probably heard about the groom that sued his wife because she looked unrecognizable without makeup. That is a little extreme, don’t you think? In my opinion we all need a little touch-up. Makeup is an art form that enhances everybody’s beauty. Let’s be honest, what celebrity in a million years will walk down a big event’s red carpet with no makeup? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, give up? My point, exactly none! Who doesn’t want to look fabulous? I know I want to and I am not ashamed to admit it. Even the most beautiful people in the world wear makeup (I love Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Kim Kardashian…even Rachel Ulloa, just a few from so many beauties in the spotlight). The purpose of makeup is not to hide our flaws but it is to create a particular look. For example, when a model is walking down a runway (yeah, yeah, yeah…New York Fashion Week is coming up!), the makeup on models has to go hand-in-hand with the theme and the clothes. Just look back at last year’s Fashion Week: how many different styles of makeup did Kendall Jenner wear walking down that runway? Every designer she walked for, not one makeup look was receptive. All designers have an idea how they want the makeup to look before the model walks down that runway.
This is why I interviewed makeup artist and Creative Director of Alcone Company Jacob Hyzer. If you have not heard of Alcone Company, shame, shame, shame! This is where you want to purchase your cosmetics because this is professional makeup at its best and you want an expert makeup artist like Jacob to give you the 411 on what is trendy in makeup, ladies and gentlemen. Jacob is an encyclopedia when it comes to cosmetics. I must say, he is an pretty impressive makeup artist: he has done tons of fashion shows and photo shoots and he has worked his makeup magic on many a celebrity! [Hey, Jacob, next time I have a photo shoot I am going to ransom you!] That should give you an idea, ladies and gentlemen, of how talented a makeup artist Jacob is. So to all my New Yorkers and tourists, stop by Alcone, located at 322 West 49th Street (between 8th and 9th avenues), New York, NY 10019. And meet Jacob for yourself and get professional advice from a professional makeup artist. Make sure to watch the video that is attached to my article and learn what Jacob has to say about the history of Alcone and the many different makeup brands sold there. My favorite is the all-natural Limelight line. Believe me, you won’t regret it. 😉
Now some of you ladies out there may be “Cleopatra” types (I love the makeup Elizabeth Taylor wore in that movie…especially the blue eyeshadow and cat eyes), and some may be more like Holly Golightly (played by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast in Tiffany’s”). Well, to tell you the truth, it doesn’t matter what kind of gal you are. I am going to talk about a 15-minute makeover that makeup artist Jacob Hyzer did at Alcone that will make Cleopatras or Hollys (or others even!) want this look and the makeup that made it all possible to achieve such a simple, sexy, breathtaking look.
Going to work, first date, job interview, meeting the parents…you can’t go wrong with this 15-minute daytime look created by Hyzer himself. Jacob explained intensively why this 15-minute look will make any person board the ship. All aboard…I know I am, and please bring some beauty products from Alcone. [Please note: before the makeover, I cheated by only having eyeliner on and a soft pink lipstick.]
Now back to business: Jacob first explained how he wanted to create a look that made my whole face look glowing, refreshed, sexy, and breathtaking. And he did, all right! The final touches were red gloss, blush only on the cheek bones, curled lashes, and a blue eye pencil on top of my eyelid. Of course he mixed a couple of different foundations as well. He used again drop of foundation on my face. It was very simple but my face looked so radiant. Let me stop talking and let Jacobmakeup’s (lol…that’s the name of his website and you can also find him on Instagram using that handle!) work show for itself.
15 Minutes To Fabulous Created By Make Up Artist Jacob Hyzer!
Till next time, Rachel Ulloa IS On The Go!!! Who will I be interviewing next?
A special thanks to Jacob Hyzer and photographers Robert Redstar and Asa Williams.
